This Byzantine cloisonné necklace is inspired by the jewelry made in Kyivan Rus in the 11th–12th centuries. This statement necklace is made using the traditional cloisonné enamelling technique. Red garnet set in 24k gold bezel with the enamelled birds accents the historical appearance of the necklace. The modern-style silversmithing adds a contemporary touch to the piece.

Enamel is glass fused on silver in high temperatures. Since it's very fragile it needs to be protected from the impacts of scratching and hitting hard surfaces. Occasionaly washing it in warm, gentle, soapy water is recomended to bring back the original shine and remove any grease or dust.
