In Eastern cultures, the wooden comb is a lasting symbol of love and care when given as a gift.
Chan from Taiwan has a true love for woodcraft. The gifted artisan behind the M-Comb has been handcrafting traditional wooden products for decades, but it wasn’t until his own health crisis that he realized the power of the wood comb.
After a surgery left his face partially paralyzed, a traditional Chinese doctor suggested he bring in one of his combs to help with the massage and acupressure techniques used to re-stimulate facial nerves. It worked wonders, and after six months, he was back to normal.
The experience set him on a new path, and the M-Comb was born. His combs are always handmade from a single piece of wood, selected for its weight, color, and aroma. Though the final product appears simple, the process of making one of these rare combs involves over a hundred steps.
Chan requires his artisans to maintain a positive mindset while making combs. He believes that the emotions of the craftsman live in the craft. “Anything handmade has a heart. When there’s a heart, there is feeling, and it has power.” Chan’s process is one of intimacy. He notices nuances that others can’t detect in the comb.
“It’s just like dating someone you love. You want to know everything about her, her family, her everything. That’s why I say I’ve been in love with my combs all my life.”

In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two are alike. And no two pieces of wood are the same. Trees have beauty and artistry all their own. Each one is as different as the next. Our artisans treat every piece of wood as a unique work of natural art and carefully handcraft the combs accordingly. Every comb has its own unique patterns. Its scars, knots, and whorls have shaped the character of the wood in the same way that a human face reveals a person’s journey through life. They are a gift from nature, and these small imperfections are what make each comb individually perfect. The scars and knots will not affect the use of your comb.
In the Orient, many people believe in predestined relationships, including the items they come across. Treasure the piece you receive, see its beauty, maybe it’s meant to be with you.
In general, wooden combs are strong and durable. Our artisan carefully selects each piece of wood for the M-combs. Each tooth is handcrafted with an angle and built solid. However, dropping from high places might result in a broken tooth. M-combs, which are usually heavier and more solid than the average wood comb on the market. but it still shouldn’t be thrown around or banged on things. If you treasure your comb and use it properly, it will last a lifetime. Additionally, each comb comes with a padded pouch for travelling.
Always remember that wood doesn’t react well to water, especially non-coated wood like we use for the M-comb. The comb may swell and eventually crack if submerged in water for long. If you do get it wet, quickly wipe the comb dry to completely remove the water. If the wood begins to feel dry, simply apply a little natural oil (such as coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, or argan oil) for protection.
Always remember that wood doesn’t react well to water, especially on non-coated wood like we use for the M-comb. However, we do need to clean our combs regularly. There are two main methods:
#1 Clean with water
Wooden combs may swell and eventually crack if submerged in water for long. Dip a piece of clean cloth in warm water, and gently wipe away any dirt from the comb, running a small corner of cloth through each tooth. If there is stubborn residue left even after wiping, scrub the comb gently with an old toothbrush. Use a piece of dry cloth to completely remove water afterwards. Once cleaned to your satisfaction, apply a little natural oil (such as coconut, olive, jojoba, or argan oil) for protection. Distribute the oil evenly across the surface to act as a protective film.
#2 clean without water
Dip a clean piece of cloth in any natural oil (such as coconut, olive, jojoba, or argan oil) and rub this over your wooden comb. Use the cloth to rub across the surface of the comb to remove dirt from the comb. You can use an old toothbrush to clean between the brushes. Wipe again with a piece of cloth and you may even lay the clean wooden comb on a towel to soak up any excess oil overnight. In the morning, wipe the comb down with a soft dry cloth.

There are many reasons a person might experience hair loss. The common ones are hereditary hair loss, too much styling, not enough protein, too much vitamin A, stress, or medical conditions.
It’s normal to shed between 50 and 100 hairs per day. If you experience significant hair loss, please contact your doctor.
In general, using M-comb properly to stimulate your scalp will help with hair growth. Massaging the scalp can improve blood circulation and provide nutrients and oxygen to their hair roots, allowing your hair to grow stronger and healthier.
M-combs are made from exotic woods, the best we can find around the world. Some are vintage and limited edition. Some are made from trees that take 1000 years to grow. Most of the woods take one to two years to dry properly so that the oil can be preserved within the wood.
The artisan Chan treats every piece of wood as a unique work of natural art. He selects each piece according to weight, color, and aroma, then processes it with over a hundred steps. He also ensures that he and his artisans maintain a positive mindset while making combs. He believes that the emotions of the craftsman live in the craft. When you have a M-comb in your hand, you’ll feel the difference. And for something you're going to use every day for years to make you happier, healthier and younger-looking, it is priceless.
First, decide what you mainly want to use the comb for. All M-combs are great for scalp massage. However when it comes to facelift or acupoint treatment, they vary a lot. The Pointer and the Percussor are great for pressure point massage. The Glider and the Percussor are great for face-lifting massage. And the Traveler is so compact that you’ll want to bring it with you everywhere.
Also, for many wood lovers, natural fragrance can be a factor. The Taiwan Cypress and Gold Cypress combs have stronger natural fragrance. The scent from Taiwan Cypress is particularly good at relaxing the mind, while the vintage Gold Cypress’s fragrance lasts many years.
For regular home use, consider the multi-purpose Percussor. It’s larger than the other combs, and its substantial weight makes it perfect as a percussor to open up congested energy in the body. You can use it for body massage, pressure point massage, facelift, and more. For people who like smaller combs, consider the pointer, the glider, or the mini-sized traveller.
